Obituary

Margary Ellen Scheele (1938-2025)

Margary (Marge) Scheele passed away on Sunday, May 25, 2025, age 86. Marge was born October 9, 1938 South Eagle, MO, daughter of Virgil and Mildred (McGregor) Moore.

Margary attended grade school Rothville MO, High School at Northwestern HS Mendon MO, and then moved to Leavenworth, KS for her senior year and graduated valedictorian Leavenworth High School 1956.

Margary was an exceptional typist, organizer, and recorder, and went to work as a secretary to a General at Ft Leavenworth. There she met the love of her life in a taxi under the clock tower of the building where she worked (Grant Hall). Margary married Jerome Scheele April 28, 1962 and they were married 62 years before he passed away on March 15, 2025.

Margary was a stay at home mom until 1980 when she went to work at Leavenworth High School as a Librarian and eventually retired in 2003.

Margary enjoyed reading everything, studying the bible, cross stitch, Jeopardy (she would've won most matches), ceramics, tennis, celebrating holidays and events, reading the newspaper out on her deck, watching sports, hosting people for dinner and parties, but mostly enjoyed spending time with her family. She would tell you she didn't love to cook, but everyone loved to eat her cooking. Perhaps her most defining characteristic - she was deeply committed to her relationship with God, and wanted others to experience this relationship also.

Margary is survived by her three children, Barbara (Pete) Robinson, Marie (Matthew) Haskins, Paul (Wendy) Scheele, nine grandchildren, three great grandchildren, one sister Peggy Brown, and several nieces and nephews.

Preceding her death are her parents and 4 sisters, Doris Lee (Jerry) Lambie, Betty (Ronnie) Harre, twin sister Margaret (Bud) Kreutzer, Ginny (Fred) Hattok, Gail Brown, and grandson Shaun Robinson.

Pall bearers are Margary's grandchildren and great grandchildren:

Kaitlin Eker, Honorary Pallbearer Shaun Robinson, Joshua Robinson, Alexander Haskins, Hope (Josh) Grieshammer, Lauren Haskins, Mariah Haskins, Rachel Scheele, Jonathan Scheele, Sarah Scheele, Robby Eker, Claire Haskins, and Zachary Grieshammer.
