Marjorie Elaine (Feerer) Dickson, 71, passed from this life on Saturday, August 1, 2026 in her home.

For all she had been through recently a peaceful death was a blessing. Marji (as she preferred) was born to Virginia Beth (Vint) Feerer and Virgil Carl Feerer in Anthony, KS on February 9, 1955. She was their last child, the fourth one. Her siblings were two brothers, Virgil Vint Feerer of Belleville, IL, Warren Carl Feerer of Geneva, IL and one sister Elizabeth Faye Kellogg of Hutchinson, KS. She graduated from Beloit High School in 1973, attended Manhattan Christian College one year, then got an Associates degree from Beloit Vo Tech. Fern Potter, her first grade teacher said, “Marjorie has done good work throughout the school year and will be a well prepared second grade student.” That assessment could be rephrased over and over again during her life.

Her switch to the vocational-tech school was a result of meeting her husband just as she finished her freshman year. They were engaged in July and on April 6, 1975, while still a student she married Lynn Raymond Dickson at the First Christian Church (DOC) in Beloit, KS. Lynn was the pastor at the Christian Church in Glen Elder, just 14 miles away. Two short months later Lynn entered seminary and they moved to a Church in Virginia. She worked as a teacher's aid one year (which she loved) and then was a transcriptionist at the Catawba Hospital (which she hated).

When she became pregnant they moved to Johnson City, TN to be closer to seminary and hospital and doctors. Lucas Daniel was born on July 20, 1977 and they both were healthy. She had a second child, a girl almost exactly two years later (that was her plan) and Corrine Alaine was born July 31, 1979. Her third, a daughter Aundrea Joy was born January 27, 1982 (again two years but she didn’t like heat late in pregnancy) so a winter birth, She loved rearranging furniture. She decorated anything that she could reach. She liked lots of colors but not white. She collected Nativities. She decorated for lots of holidays and Christmas decorating was “over the top”. Her poor health these last few years had curtailed much of that for her but she implored others to do it for her. She made Christmas stockings for all her children and grandchildren, two each, one for gran’s house and one for their home. The one at her house was filled with candy, pencils, puzzles, and other goodies.

She was a PEO but she wasn’t really a “joiner.” She poured her energy into spaces and activities for the children at her church. She loved Treehouse Treasures and Vacation Bible School. Grandchildren would come spend the week so they could be included.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Virgil C. & Virginia Beth(Vint) Feerer, father-in-law Leo T. Dickson, maternal grandparents Bessie B. Vint, paternal grandparents John Carl & Florence Feerer, a brother-in-law William Kellogg, one grandson Kaleb B Miller December I, 2009; one niece and two nephews.

She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Lynn in Leavenworth, KS. Her children Lucas Dickson (Amber) of Lenexa, Corrine Dickson of Fayetteville, AR, and Aundrea (Chuck) Kleinhagen of Blue Springs, MO. Her surviving grandchildren are Levi Dickson, Miles (Milo) Dickson, Lenexa; Kosse Miller, Kingston Miller, Fayetteville, AR; Alison Kleinhagen, Amelia (Mia) Kleinhagen, Charles (Charlie) Kleinhagen IV, Blue Springs. Surviving siblings are Vint Feerer, Belleville, IL; Warren (Pam) Feerer, Geneva, Il. and Elizabeth Kellogg, Hutchinson, KS. She is also survived by her mother-in-law, Vera Dickson of Kansas City, KS. Surviving nieces and nephews number 19, grand nieces and grand nephews number 55 and 1 great-grand nephew.

Memorials may be given to First Christian in Leavenworth or a children's hospital or ministry of your choice.

Her body has been cremated. Visitation will be at 2 pm and a Celebration of Life Service begins at 3 at First Christian, 6th and Seneca, Leavenworth, KS on Sunday August 30, 2026
