Martha Jane Wahaus Parrett was called home to her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, April 22, 2025. She was born January 10, 1927, the fifth child of Mary Carlie Cleavinger and Benjamin Franklin Highfill, near Potter, Kansas. After graduating high school, she married Alvin Frederick Wahaus in 1947 and together they raised five children. After losing Alvin to cancer in 1975, she married Edwin Parrett from Atchison, Kansas, who also preceded her in death.

She is survived by her daughter, Karen Gerardy, two sons, Keith Wahaus and Kevin Wahaus, 12 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two daughters, Jane Holland and Jo Anne Kennard, and two granddaughters.

Visitation will be from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 311 N 7th Street, Leavenworth, Kansas 66048 on Saturday, April 26, 2025. Services will begin at 10:30 with graveside service immediately following at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Memorials may be given to the St. Paul Lutheran School.
