Mary Louise (Ritchey/ Harrison) Euler passed away at the age 101, Lansing on Sunday, July 9, 2023. She was born October 4, 1921 to parents, William and Elnorah Casement at Sedan, Kansas.
Mary Lou attended Maggie Kilmer Grade school, Sedan Junior High School and High School. She graduated salutatorian of her class May 1939.
She played in the school orchestra, marching band and Girls Drum Corp. She also sang with the Girls Glee Club.
She worked at Edwards Department Store after graduating until her marriage to Kenneth I. Ritchey in 1941. While stationed in Leominster, MA with the Army their son Kenneth Scott Ritchey was born in 1944. After the war they moved back to Fredonia, KS where their son Kurtis John Ritchey was born in 1955. Mary Lou and Kenneth moved to Lansing, KS with their family in 1968 where he was a school administrator. Kenneth passed away in 1971.
She married Edgar Harrison in 1977. She is survived by his sons Kenneth, and Richard. She was preceded in death by his son Stephen. Edger passed away in 1980.
In 1984 Mary Lou married Merle Euler. She is survived by his children Erin (Richard) Sack, Becky (Don) Duncan and Bob (Diane) Euler. Merle passed away in 2006.
Mary Lou worked at The First State Bank of Lansing for 10 years.
Mary Lou was a member of Crossroads United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women. She belonged to Chapter EO, P.E.O., Philamanthean and Order of Eastern Star.
Mary Lou's favorite pastimes were playing golf and bridge. She was the Leavenworth Country Club Womens Golf Club Champion twice. Her proudest golf achievement was her Hole In One while golfing in Minnesota.
Mary Lou was preceded in death by her son Kenneth Scott Ritchey and granddaughter Kimberly A. Ritchey. She is survived by her son Kurtis (Carrie) Ritchey of Leavenworth. She is survived by 6 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and multiple step grandchildren and step great grandchildren. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews that she loved dearly.
Visitation will be held 9:30 am Friday, July 21, 2023 at the Crossroads United Methodist Church, Lansing, Kansas followed by the funeral service at 11:00 am Friday at the church. Burial will be held 11:00 am Saturday, July 22, 2023 in the Fredonia City Cemetery, Fredonia, Kansas.
