Mary Ellen O'Neil, age 53, was born on February 7,1970 to Ellen M. Cross and Patrick F. O'Neil in Kansas City, MO at General Hospital. Mary passed away at her home in Leavenworth, KS during the night of June 25, 2023.

Mary received her GED in Beloit, KS in 1986. In 1988, not long after marrying Ron C. Bakken, Mary welcomed her oldest son Trey V. Bakken then, one year later, they welcomed their youngest son, Trevin C. Bakken. Mary loved her family and friends. She was passionate about taking care of her dog, Nita, and her plants. She also enjoyed writing and helping others when she could. She has been a Christian for many years.

Mary is preceded in death by her father, Patrick F. O'Neil, maternal grandparents  Vincent Cross and Ruby Murphy, and her paternal grandmother, Mildred Moorehead. She is survived by her mother, Ellen M. Cross of Leavenworth, her two sons Trey (Chenoa) Bakken of Leavenworth, Trevin (Jessica) Bakken of Canton, TX, her three grandchildren Mila, Dean, and Dante, her brother, Patrick O'Neil of Leavenworth, her sister Brandie (Shane) Karr of Leavenworth, her dog Nita, her boyfriend Robert Lake, many aunts, uncles, cousins, step children  and friends.

A celebration of life  service will be held in Leavenworth Ks. at Household of  Faith,  2021 metropolitan ave., on Saturday , September  16, 2023 from 1:30 P.M. to 5:30 P.M.
