Maxine Martens went to her home in heaven on February 26, 2024.

Maxine was born on September 15, 1925 in Atchison, Kansas to Ivan and Marie Marshall. She graduated from Leavenworth High School in 1943. Maxine married Charles Martens on March 14, 1944. They were married for 65 years. He preceded her in death on February 2, 2009.

Maxine was employed in Civil Service from 1950 until retirement in 1983. She volunteered for Books on Wheels at the Leavenworth Public Library from 1993 to 2012. She was a member of the First Baptist Church.

Maxine enjoyed working jigsaw puzzles and spending time with her family.

Maxine is survived by 2 children, Janet Herman of Montgomery, Texas and Cindy (Phil) Urban of Leavenworth, Kansas, 2 grandchildren and 5 great- grandchildren.

Visitation will be held at Davis Funeral Chapel on Friday, March 8, 2024 from 10 to 11 A.M. Funeral service will follow at 11 A.M. Burial will be held at Sunset Memory Gardens Cemetery.
