Obituary

Melanie C. Lambert passed away at the age of 72 on January 27, 2025 at her residence in Lansing, KS.  Family will receive friends and loved ones on Thursday, February 6, 2025 from 5 pm till 7 pm at the Davis Funeral Chapel in Leavenworth, KS.  Funeral procession will start on Friday, February 7, 2025 at 10:30 am at the Davis Funeral Chapel with final goodbyes at the Leavenworth National Cemetery at 11 am.

Mrs. Lambert was a supportive U.S. Military wife of 22 years and retired as a Veterinary Assistant with Lowemont Veterinary Services in Easton, KS with 27 years of service.  She is survived by her three children, Joshua Lambert and wife Kimberly, Timothy Lambert and wife Angie, Jessica Woodward and husband Jason along with two nephews, Shawn Posey of Baton Rouge, LA and Stacy Posey of Baton Rouge, LA.  She was also blessed to have five loving grandchildren, Lindsey and Paul Lambert, Dallton and Hunter Lambert, Shelby Woodward and several nieces and friends.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 40 years, CPT (RET) John P. Lambert, her parents Fred and Mildred Krause of Sicily Island, LA, her sister Judith Posey of Baton Rouge, LA, her aunt Barbara Chambliss of Texas City, TX, her uncle John Passman of Sicily Island, LA, and nephew Frederick Posey of Baron Rouge, LA.
Mrs. Lambert will be escorted by pallbearers, Joshua and Timothy Lambert, Jason Woodward along with family friends, Richard Sachse, Morgan Swiler, and Ed Wagner.

Arrangements entrusted to Davis Funeral Chapel in Leavenworth, KS. Mrs. Lambert had a passion for animals, especially the love for cats.  All donations will be sent to the Hope Pet Rescue Center in Leavenworth, KS in her memory.  Condolences may be left on Melanie's online guestbook at www.davisfuneralchapelinc.com.
