Melvin Deal May passed on to heaven on July 22, 2021 at the age of 81. He was born April 25, 1940 on a farm in Valley Falls, KS to Deal and Eathel May.

He has one brother, Edward Ingerson who preceded him in death on November 26, 1984. His father preceded him in death on September 27, 1957 and his mother on May 10, 1976. On August 1, 1965 he married Irma Ruth Hall and they were married for 42 years until her passing on May 18, 2008.

Melvin served in the United States Army from 1963 until 1965. He then worked for the Sunflower Ammunition Plant for several years and then at Cushing Memorial Hospital as the assistant engineer for 28 years before retiring in 2003.

They are survived by 3 children, Lon D. May (Rebekah) and Eathel T. May from Leavenworth and Melody R. May-Rowe in Iowa. They have 3 grandchildren, Megan Crawford, Victoria Birdsell and David May. They also have 3 great grandchildren, Lexi, Connor and Anna.

Visitation will be held at Davis Funeral Chapel on Wednesday, July 28, 2021 from 10 to 12 (noon) with the funeral service immediately following. Burial will be held at Sunset Memory Gardens Cemetery.
