Michael Joseph Godsil, 65, of Lansing, KS, passed away Thursday, March 18, 2021 at Advent Health Shawnee Mission, KS.  He was born July 1, 1955 in Galesburg, IL to Michael T and Mary Jean Godsil. He was the oldest of 10 siblings: Steven Godsil (Debbie), Annette Godsil, Karen Godsil, Mary Godsil, Patricia Robinson (Rand), Brian Godsil (April), Barbara Childers (Chris), Kevin Godsil (Lisa), Patrick Godsil. He married Linda Godsil, Oct 3, 2006, in Isle of Palms, SC.

He retired from BNSF Railway in 2016 after 43 years of service. Along with traveling with his wife, he kept busy with wood projects and working around his church. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church.

Along with his wife, father and siblings, he is survived by four children: Dana Whittaker (Travaun), Erin Swensen (Jeremy), Kara Rittel (Kyle), Eric Godsil (Jairrah); one stepson, Russell Buchanan; eight grandchildren: Aiyana Godsil, Aidan Ford; Jerin Swensen, Eric Swensen, Claire Rittel, Alden Rittel, Levi Rittel, Eric Godsil Jr. He was preceded in death by his mother.

Memorials may be given to Calvary Baptist Church, Leavenworth, Kansas or the Galesburg Railroad Museum, Galesburg, IL.

Visitation will be at Calvary Baptist Church, Tuesday, March 23, 2021 from 10 A.M. to 11 A.M. Funeral service will follow.
