Miriam Cade, 98, of Leavenworth, KS, passed away peacefully at her
home, on March 28th, 2024 surrounded by her loved ones.
Born on Feb. 9, 1926, in Richmond, KS, she was the daughter of Irene
(Sutton) and Charles Dunbar. She grew up in Richmond and attended
college at Kansas State University, where she studied home economics.
After graduation she did extension work and later became Director of Food
Service for Leavenworth schools.
Miriam was a loving wife to Don for 64 years. Together, they built a life full
of love, laughter, and cherished moments.
As a loving mother she was the heart of the family. She poured her love
and patience into her 5 children, Norman, Donna, Lynn, Diane, & Debra
(died at birth). Miriam leaves behind a legacy of kindness, strength, and
compassion.
Miriam was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Irene, her
husband Donald, her brother Albert (Dorothy). She is survived by her
children Norman (Becky), Donna, Lynn (Rick), Diane (Bart-deceased) as
well as 9 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, and 2 great grandchildren.
To honor and celebrate Miriam Cade's life a visitation will be at Davis
Funeral Chapel, Sunday April 7th, 3pm-5pm and funeral service Monday
April 8th, 1pm at the First United Methodist Church.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be sent to First United
Methodist church of Leavenworth, KS.
Miriam touched the lives of many and her spirit will continue to shine
brightly in our hearts forever.
