Nancy Lou Reed, 85, passed away February 26, 2024, surrounded by family. She was born on June 15, 1938, in Atchison, Kansas. The daughter of Brodine (Langston) Funk and Hugh Lawrence.
She married Leo Wagner on November 1, 1955, Easton, Kansas. Leo died in an accident on March 7, 1964. From this marriage were six children: Karen (Jeff) Logan, Linda (Paul) Biever, Vickie Pierron, Barbara (Tony) Rush, Jacqueline (Bill) Howard, and John (Sharon) Wagner
On August 25, 1972, Nancy married Duane L. Reed. This marriage brought three children into the family: Wess Reed, Jackie (Jeff) Crisp, and Kristina Lyons.
She is survived by 8 children, 20 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Nancy was preceded in death by her husbands, Leo Wagner and Duane Reed, her parents, a daughter, Jacqueline Howard and a grandson, Travis Pierron. She was also proceeded by her four siblings: Bobby Lawrence, Patricia Lawrence, William Lawrence, and Bonita Stimac.
She graduated from Easton High School, was a homemaker and mother. After the death of her husband, Nancy completed cosmetology school graduating in 1969. She opened her own salon in Easton, operating it for over 30 years. After she closed her salon, she worked at Price Chopper an additional 20 years.
Nancy enjoyed spending time with her large family and found joy in the chaos of everyone being together. Her Sunday morning coffees were always a favorite for family and friends to stop by. She had many hobbies, singing, painting, working with kids, doing puzzles, board games, and playing cards. Her greatest joy was her family.
Visitation will be Sunday, March 3rd, 4:00 – 6:00 pm at Davis Funeral Chapel. Leavenworth, Kansas. The Funeral Mass will be Monday, March 4th, 10:00 am at St. Lawrence Catholic Church, Easton, Kansas, followed by burial at Easton Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be given to St. Lawrence Church.
