Nicholas L. Schmidt Sr
1955-2023

It is with great sadness that we have to announce on January 14, 2023 our dear father Nick passed away peacefully with his family by his side.

Nick was born March 22, 1955 in St. Joseph, Missouri to Olin and Anna Mae Schmidt. He lived the majority of his life in Leavenworth, Ks where most people would have met him as the man who helped them to secure their first loan to purchase a car or home. Nick was a devoted father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and brother. Always ready to help anyone whenever he could. There was never a doubt when dad was present in a room, he always seemed to find someone to talk to. Dad enjoyed and was an accomplished karaoke singer. He spent many nights enjoying the company of his piers entertaining them with his rendition of George strait or Tim Mcgraw

Nick is survived by his children Nicholas Jr (Pam) and Michelle (Jim) grandchildren Taylor, Hannah, Ashlyn and Sawyer; Taylor, Hayley, Alexis, James, Anna and great-granddaughter Amara. He is survived by his sister Andrea (Gene) Sutton.

Nick was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents Nicholas and Carrie (Dunn ) Schmidt , Graham, Mo and Bail and Nellie (Hughes) Karr, Oregon, Mo, special Aunt Wilma Schmidt of Graham and Leavenworth, KS, adopted sister Donna (Concannon) Schmidt

He has been cremated and a memorial service will be held in the spring when all family can attend.
