Norma Ruth Wartha, 88, realized her baptismal promise on August 31, 2022, at Kansas City Hospice House in Kansas City, Missouri.
Norma was born at home in Fort Smith, Arkansas to Richard Simon and Elizabeth Susan Prescott. She married Thomas Wartha in 1954 and resided in Leavenworth, Kansas until she moved to skilled nursing care at Villa St. Francis in Olathe, Kansas in June 2022.
Norma was a devoted and loving wife, mother, and sister. She was a home maker who enjoyed country music, crafts, puzzles, movies, working in the yard, gardening, cooking, and baking for her family. Norma was preceded in death by her husband of 32 years, Thomas Wartha, her son John Thomas, her parents Elizabeth Susan and Richard Simon Prescott, her sisters Helen Gist, Arlene Prescott, Shirley Meisner, and Barbra Ann Hurst, and her brothers Richard (Junior) Prescott, Jerry Prescott, Charles Prescott. She is survived by her brother Clifford (Dub) Prescott of Rock Island, Oklahoma and sister Christine Noland of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, her children Rick Wartha of Leavenworth, Kansas, Sidney Wartha and his spouse Nathan Choate of Kansas City, Missouri, and daughter Sandy Knight and her husband Ronald Knight of Basehor, Kansas.

Funeral services will be held at Davis Funeral Chapel in Leavenworth, Kansas on Tuesday, September 13, 2022. Visitation at 11:00 AM. Service at 12:00 PM. Processional to Fort Leavenworth National Cemetery for graveside interment immediately following service. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to the Alzheimer's Association (www.alz.org) or the Alzheimer's Foundation (www.alzfdn.org).
