Ok Ja Bender passed away on Sunday, December 15, 2024.

Ok Ja was born on December 6, 1933 in Seoul, Korea. She married Eugene William Bender on May 24, 1968 in Ellendale, ND. She also became a U.S. Citizen on May 1, 1968.

She was baptized into Lutheran faith at Zion Lutheran Church on January 17,1969 in Ellendale, ND.

Ok Ja enjoyed gardening – flowers and vegetables.

She is preceded in Death by her husband, Eugene W. Bender, mother, Soon Ja Kim, father, Kam Yong Chung.

Ok Ja Is survived by her sister, Chae Pun Atchison of Gladstone, Missouri, daughter Kim (Darren) Davenport, Kansas City, MO., daughter Veronica (Trace) Tandy, Gladstone, MO., grandchildren: Ashley McPheeters, Megan Asbury, Ryan Davenport, Austin Davenport, Brittney Atchison, Josh Tandy, and Jessica Solis, Great grandchildren: Gavin, Jaxon, Elijah, Emilia, Mila, Miles, Maya, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held at Davis Funeral Chapel on Saturday, December 28, 2024 from noon to 2. Funeral will follow at 2 P.M. Burial will be held on Tuesday, December 31, 2024 at Leavenworth National Cemetery.
