Deaconess Pamela Elizabeth Johnson
Pamela Johnson passed away on December 13 th , 2022 at St. John's Hospital due to various health struggles.
Pamela Elizabeth Armstead was born on May 2, 1966, the youngest child of William and Dalena Mae Armstead in Junction City, Kansas. She had six siblings, two of which went on to glory before her.
Pamela graduated from high school in 1983 and years later attended Kansas City Kansas Community College where she received an Associates in Applied Science. Following this, she attended the KCKCC Respiratory Therapy Program for three semesters but could not attend the fourth and final semester due to her medical disability.
Pamela had 5 children whom she loved dearly and raised and went above and beyond with extraordinary measures to support and instill in their hearts the love of God. She met William James Johnson and they married on September 25, 1999 in Leavenworth, KS.
Pamela worked in the nursing field for twenty- five years. Pamela held positions as a CNA, CMA, and a phlebotomist. She worked at several nursing homes in Leavenworth, and at the hospital lab at St John's Hospital. Pam's final positions were at the Dwight D. Eisenhower Veterans Medical Center as a phlebotomist and CNA.
Pamela and William were active members at Trinity Church of God in Christ and shared their faith in God with family, friends and neighbors. She had the unique ability to see value in all things, Pam was an ordained Deaconess, and she shared the gospel with all people, particularly praying with the sick and bedridden in the hospital and nursing homes for many years of her life.
Pam cared for her mother through the end of her life and was a devoted mother, wife, grandmother, daughter, and friend. Pam didn't know a stranger.
Pam is predeceased by her son David Bean and mother Dalena Braswell. She is survived by her husband, William James Johnson of Leavenworth, Children: Raheem Armstead, Hutchison, KS; Apreel Armstead, Jacksonville, FL; Dwayne Edwards in the U.S. Army, Korea; Katrina (Raoul Olivier) Elola, Jacksonville, FL and numerous other family and friends.
The Celebration of Life will be held at Trinity Church of God and Christ, 24481 South 139 th St. Leavenworth County, Kansas on Tuesday, December 27, 2022 10:30 A.M.
