Patricia "Patty" Ann Rodgers, 73, Leavenworth, passed away unexpectedly August 14, 2023.

Patty was born July 4, 1950, to the late Ralph and Virginia (Richardson) Rodgers in Leavenworth, Kansas.

She graduated from Leavenworth High School in 1968. After graduation she worked at Armed Forces Insurance and married Fred Locke. The two had a daughter, Heather, whom Patty was always immensely proud of. She often travelled to Atlanta to visit her daughter, son-in law, and grandchildren. She was affectionately known as "Nana". She was also so incredibly fond of her Maltese dogs: Molly, Bo, Ellie, Ariel, Sadie, and Kadie.

Patty was a kind, compassionate and hard-working woman who genuinely loved people. In her earlier career, she owned and operated two restaurants in Leavenworth, The Towne Pub, and the Angus. The remainder of her 50+ year working career was spent mostly in retail. Cosmetics and personal care were her passion. She was consistently recognized as a top seller for Estee Lauder, Bath & Body Works, and Clinique. She was adored by her co-workers, whom she considered family. Sales was not what she did but who she was. She had an amazing way of getting you to buy things you didn't know you needed. Patty had just retired in the weeks prior to her death and her co-workers organized a wonderful celebration.

Those that knew and loved Patty will remember her for many things. She never met a stranger. It didn't matter where she was or what she was doing, she was going to make friends. She also took tremendous pride and gratification in helping people look and feel their best. She loved all things holiday, including her impeccable Christmas decor and delicious cookies. Thankfully she passed her recipes and skills to her daughter. She loved her collections, specifically her elephants, many which she inherited from her grandmother. Most importantly, she took great pride and joy in the many accomplishments of her grandchildren, Virginia, and Beckett.

Patty was preceded in death by her parents, Ralph (Bud) and Virginia (Jim) Rodgers, her sister Shirley McGlinn and her niece Jeanne Drewery. She is survived by her daughter Heather (Bryan) Schreiber of Alpharetta, GA, along with their children, Virginia, and Beckett; her sister Mary Helen (John) Owens of Leavenworth, her brother, Buddy (Ann) Rodgers also of Leavenworth; her brother in-law Bob McGlinn of Franklin, TN, her nieces and nephews, Mike Owens, Maura Webb, Matt McGlinn and Ralph Rodgers IV, her cousin, Bobbie (Dave) Wildung, as well as her dearest friends, Sandy Bennett and Kathy Hiatt.

Celebration of Life will be held at Davis Funeral Chapel in Leavenworth, Kansas on Thursday, August 24, 2023, from 1 to 3 P.M.
