Patricia A. Swartz

(January 30, 1945 – December 28, 2023)

Patricia A. Swartz, 78, of Leavenworth, passed away peacefully at home on December 28, surrounded by family.

She was born January 30th, 1945, to the late Grant and Veda Hubbard in Leavenworth, Kansas.

She is survived by her Four children, Kriss (Cheryl) Swartz, Shelly Swartz, Katherine Swartz, and Marcus Swartz, As well as being blessed with Eight Grandchildren and Seven Great Grandchildren.  She is survived by her brother Gary (Jan) Hubbard and their daughter Amy.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years William N (Bill) Swartz, and her parents Veda and Grant Hubbard, and Stepfather Walt Infield.

Patricia married her high school sweetheart and the love of her life, Bill Swartz and enjoyed 54 years full of love and adventures!  Whether it was antiquing, fishing, camping, gardening, traveling or simply filling the house with music, laughter, and love!

While professionally Patricia wore several hats in her life including legal secretary, real-estate agent, childcare provider, school secretary, and business owner, her heart was always centered on family. As a wife and mother, she always put family at the forefront and focused on her children.  Whether it was reading books, providing accompaniment on her accordion or piano, or simply providing joy in simple ways, you could always find her providing for not only her own children but for neighbors' children as well.  If anyone in the neighborhood wanted to know where their children were, quite often they could be found at the Swartz household where Patricia welcomed them whole-heartedly.

Patricia was strong in faith and was an active member of the First Christian Church for over forty years, where she enjoyed fellowship and friendships experienced through participation in faith-based service.

A visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. on January 4, 2024 at Davis Funeral Chapel.  The celebration of life service will be held on Friday, January 5, 2024 at 10 A.M. at Davis Funeral Chapel, 531 Shawnee, Leavenworth Kansas. Interment will follow the service at Mount Muncie Cemetery at 1500 North 8th street (Hwy 5), Lansing, Kansas.
