Philip L. Tinder, 66, Leavenworth, passed away Sunday, January 10, 2021, surrounded by loved ones. Phil was born July 13, 1954 in Leavenworth, KS to Agatha (Lentz) and Guy L. Tinder Jr. Phil received his Bachelor Degree in education from the University of Kansas and was a huge Jayhawk fan. On March 7, 1986 he married Sharon Chartier and raised two children Jason Spiess and Amber (Spiess) Gutierrez. Phil was passionate about sports from coaching his children in a variety of sports and umpiring and referring sports for 40 years for the state and city. Phil was proceeded in death by his father, Guy L. Tinder Jr. and mother Agatha (Lentz) Tinder. He is survived by his wife Sharon Tinder, brother Kenny Tinder and sister Sandra (Tinder)Parr. He is also survived by his two children Jason Spiess, Amber (Spiess) Gutierrez and two grandchildren Damien Matson and Josephine Gutierrez. Visitation will be Thursday January 14, 2021 from 6pm to 8pm at Davis Funeral Home in Leavenworth, KS. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
