Priscilla "Sue" Wooley, 83, of Leavenworth, passed away peacefully on Saturday, February7, 2026. Sue was born on January 18, 1943, to James E. and Edna M. Moppin in Leavenworth. She lived in Lansing for more than 20 years before moving back to Leavenworth in 2019. She attended school in Leavenworth, graduating in May 1961. She married her beloved husband, Jerry, on July 1, 1961. He preceded her in death in 2019. Sue worked at Fort Leavenworth, the Leavenworth County District Court, and the Leavenworth County Health Department, where she retired in 1999. After retirement, she worked part time for attorney Doug Waters for 11 years.
Sue enjoyed cross-stitching, cooking, sewing, spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and listening to her favorite singer, John Denver. She spent many years serving as a Cub Scout den mother and Girl Scout troop leader. She was active in her church and served on numerous committees at Lansing United Methodist Church and Southern Heights United Methodist Church in Leavenworth. She was also active for many years with the Lansing Kiwanis Club.
Mom and Grandma "Baddie" is survived by her three sons, Brian (Lisa) of St. Louis, MO, Bruce (Kelly) of Pittsfi eld, MA, and Sean of Lansing, KS; three grandchildren, Sean II (Emily) of Waukesha, WI, Katelyn Gigliotti (Richard) of Adams, MA, and Kimberlyn Trosper (Jordan) of Polo, MO; six great-grandchildren, Maddie, Hailey, Riley, Oliver, Jackson, and Emersyn; three "bonus" great-grandchildren, Adley, Landon, and Mason; and numerous other relatives in the Leavenworth, Lansing, and Kansas City areas.
A funeral service will be held Friday, February 13, at 1:30 p.m. at Southern Heights United Methodist Church in Leavenworth. Memorials/Donations may be made to the church or the American Kidney Fund.
