Robert C. Birkenmeier(Bob) 71, Leavenworth, passed away on August 31, 2021.  He was born on November 28, 1949 in Madison, WI to the late Arthur W. Birkenmeier and Jane Bleckwenn Birkenmeier. He is survived by his two brothers, A. William Birkenmeier 3rd (Susan) of Verona, WI and Richard A. Birkenmeier (Mary Beth) of Havertown, PA and three nieces, Jennifer Keenan (Michael), Melissa Brown (Timothy) and Sarah Murray (David) along with eight great nieces and nephews.

Bob graduated from the Peacock Military Academy in San Antonio, Texas and proudly served in the US Army from 1969 thru 1975. His last assignment was at Fort Leavenworth, KS where he continued to live for several years.  His aptitude in computer technology earned him a position with NCR which eventually took him to Louisiana and Texas.  Bob returned to Leavenworth and began working at Fort Leavenworth in the IT division from where earned his retirement.  Bob enjoyed breeding fish caring for his several aquariums, and spending time with friends in his pool and dart leagues. He was an avid Harley motorcycle rider who enjoyed riding cross country and state to state once completing the HD Coast to Coast 48 state rally.  Graveside service will be 11 A.M. , Friday, April 8, 2022 at Leavenworth National Cemetery.  Arrangements entrusted to Davis Funeral Chapel.
