Obituary

Robert "Bob" Woodward, 69, went home to the Lord on July 19, 2023 at Providence Medical Center, Kansas City, KS. Bob was born on April 1, 1954 to Delbert and Doris L. (Cune) Woodward in Leavenworth, Kansas. He was the eldest of 5 siblings. He attended and graduated from Leavenworth High School, Leavenworth, KS in 1972. He served in the U.S. Army from 1972-1976 as medical technician in Vietnam and Japan. He married Peggy D. (Allen) at the VA Chapel in Leavenworth, Kansas on June 7, 1981.

Bob worked at the Veterans Administration for 29 years as a very proficient psychiatric nursing technician. He cared greatly for his patients and coworkers. In addition, Bob was a big baseball and football fan as well as playing softball when able. He had a great appreciation for many types of music, often reciting band members, release dates of songs and ball players, year on teams, yearly statistics, etc. Bob was baptized in 1975 at Basehor Baptist Temple. He was a deep believer in the Lord and sent Bible verses over the internet daily to family, friends, and the public reaching as far as Australia.

He is preceded in death by his son, David, and father Delbert L. Woodward.

Bob is survived by his wife, Peggy of the home, daughter, Melissa (Dustin) Hilt of Leavenworth, Kansas, mother, Doris Woodward and siblings, J. Michael (Connie) Woodward of California, Carol McKenzie of Owasso, OK, Debby (Bob) Woodward-Owens of Leavenworth, KS and Larry (Lisa) Woodward of Lansing, Kansas, and brother-in-law, Walter (Marie) Allen and parents-in-law, Lawrence (Gracie) Allen, as well as many nieces and nephews, great nieces/nephews,

Visitation will be on Wednesday, August 2, 2023 from 5 to 7 pm at Davis Funeral Chapel. Funeral service will be held on Thursday, August 3, 2023 at 11 am at Davis Funeral Chapel. Services will be officiated by Bill Delphia. Interment will follow at Leavenworth National Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to Davis Funeral Chapel.
