Rodney Scott (Rod) Huskey, 78, left this earthly life, June 4, 2025 in Kansas City, Missouri.

Rod was born to Harold and Virginia(Scott) Huskey, on August 12, 1946, in St. Louis, Missouri.

He attended schools in and around St. Louis and attended MU studying Computer Programing. Rod was identified early as a bright student and tracked with peers like himself. He liked to read the dictionary for fun and read the entire encyclopedia.

Rod did many things in his life time, but enjoyed selling cars most of all. He could tell make, model and special features of any age car. He owned close to 100 cars over his lifetime.

He developed a love of gardening in later years to include a vegetable garden, cutting garden and zen garden complete with a fish pond. Watching the Chiefs with friends was also a special past time. Delivering Meals on Wheels was something he enjoyed as he had the gift of talking to anyone.

Preceding Rod in death, were his parents, his sister, Barbara Georgi, and his beloved daughter, Anjie Lightly. Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Kathy, son, Michael Huskey, and daughter, Kate Wilburn (Andrew). He is also survived by Kathy's sons, Grady Hubbard(Julie), Joel Hubbard (Lyndsay) and families. Rod has 7 grandsons, 1 granddaughter, 2 great grandchildren and several nephews, nieces and cousins.

Visitation is Monday, June 16, 2025, 5:30 to 7:00 P.M. at the First United Methodist Church, 422 Chestnut, Leavenworth, KS. Funeral service is Tuesday, June 17, 2025 at 10:30 A.M. at First United Methodist Church.

Because of Rod's love for children we are asking memorial contributions be made to CASA or First United Methodist Church.
