Ronald Jenkins was born in Monticello, Florida on Sunday, January 23, 1955, to Andrew and Eloise Jenkins, he resided in the Leavenworth area
for his adult life. Ron was known as Polecat as a child and later in life he was known as Ron the Tree man. He owned and operated Ron's Tree
Service, then, toward his life's end, A-1 Poor Boy Tree Service. He spent more than 50 years as a tree climber. It is said he would have given the shirt off his back to help someone out who was in a time of need. Ron passed away at home in his sleep Saturday March 9 th , 2024.

Ron is survived by his children Ronald W. Jenkins of Tallahassee, Florida, Elouise Jenkins of Leavenworth, KS, Andrew Ivey of Wichita, KS, Ronda Jenkins-Abbott of Leavenworth, KS and Haley Albert of Bonner Springs, KS. His deeply loved grandchildren are Renee Knowles and James Knowles of Leavenworth, Summer Jenkins, Ronald W. Jenkins Jr and Thomas Jenkins of Tallahassee, Florida, Allyssa Ivey, Abram Ivey, and Adalynn Ivey of Wichita KS, William CJ Abbott and BaiLee Abbott of Leavenworth. He also leaves behind 3 great grandchildren Beau Knowles, Breanna Knowles, and Theo Knowles of Leavenworth. Children he gathered along the way were William Balz, Janie Balz, Jason JT Knowles, Stacey Knowles-Hinson, and Richard (Greg) Hunt. His siblings left surviving are twin brother Donald Jenkins and a sister Martha Ann Jenkins- Schul.
