Ronald Duncan Jones of Weston, MO, was born Sept. 18, 1943 and ascended to Heaven on Jan. 15, 2024, surrounded by his family at his home. He is survived by his wife, Marty (Martha McCown) of 43 years, daughter, Angela Callaway (Lennie) of Weston, MO and daughter, Christine Prestidge (Ricky) of Weston, MO, 2 grandsons, Preston and Adrian as well as 2 granddaughters, Amelia and Liza. He is also survived by his sisters, Margaret Berry of Leavenworth, KS and Helen McDonald of Weston, MO, several nephews and nieces, cousins, and friends that he called "family." He is preceded in death by his parents, Samuel Duncan and Nadine Ellen Jones, his brothers, Brian and Robert, and his sister, Mary Jones. He served in the U.S. Army as a young man and soon after went to work for McCormick Distillery where he and Marty met. He retired from McCormick's after 40 years. He loved everything outdoors. He enjoyed hunting, fishing on the Missouri River, raising tobacco, and gardening. He had an eye for mushrooms, finding many pounds every year. He passed his love and knowledge of these activities to his children and grandchildren. There wasn't anything that he could not "fix." He enjoyed fishing and water skiing as he lived at Bean Lake for many years until moving to the family farm near Iatan in 1989. He had a special gift for story-telling. His stories have created lasting memories for all who knew and loved him. The visitation will take place at Davis Funeral Chapel in Leavenworth, KS at 1:00pm on Sun., 1/21/24, followed by a funeral service at 2:00pm. A private burial is planned at Mount Bethel Cemetery on Monday in Weston, MO.
