Rosetta Jean Brushwood (Burns), 67, of Leavenworth, Kansas passed peacefully into the arms of her heavenly father on August 3, 2023.

Rosetta was born in Plattsburg, Missouri on August 9, 1955, the daughter of the late Everett Burns and Alma Burns Jett. She is the middle child of 5 siblings. Rosetta graduated from Platte County High School in 1973.

Rosetta married Carl R. Brushwood that year and together they have two children, Melanie Dawn Moppin (Brushwood) and Matthew Jay Brushwood. Rosetta worked at the Fort Leavenworth AAFES Exchange for 17 years. They have resided in Leavenworth for the last several years. Rosetta had a deep love of horses and horseback riding. She had a strong faith and relationship with Jesus Christ. She was a devoted wife and loving mother and grandmother.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brother David Burns, sister Linda Burns.

She is survived her husband, Carl; children Melanie, Matt (Jessica); grandchildren: Grace and Quintin Moppin; Nathan and Ava Brushwood; Alison Bounds (Josh); great-grandchildren: Rowan and Asher Bounds; two brothers: Jim Buck and George Burns; her sister Kathy Burns, as well as beloved sister in-laws, cousins, and nieces and nephews.
