Ruth Elaine Turner was a caring wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, and friend. She passed away February 28, 2022 at the age of 82.

Elaine was born to William and Vivian Howard on July 13, 1939 in their home in Ness City, Kansas. After graduating high school she pursued her dream of becoming a teacher. She graduated from Fort Hays State University with a bachelors degree in education. It was here where she met her future husband George Turner. They married on June 11, 1961 and had two children.

Elaine loved spending time with her family, teaching, church, and traveling.

Elaine is survived by her two children Brent Turner and Rebecca Honaker (George), granddaughter Jessica Wayman (Tom Schlagel ), grandson Tyler Wayman, great granddaughter Madelyn Schlagel, and her brother Eldon Howard (Pat).

Elaine was preceded in death by her loving husband George and her parents.

A visitation is scheduled for March 4, 2022 from 9:00 am-11:00 am at First Baptist Church 340 N. 13th street Leavenworth, Kansas. The funeral service will follow the visitation at 11:00 am at the same location. The burial will follow the funeral service at Mount Muncie Cemetery.
