Sharon L. Moppin of Potter, Ks. was a caring wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She passed away suddenly on Tuesday, May 11, 2021 at age 79.
Sharon was born July 26, 1941 in Leavenworth, Ks., the daughter of David and May Wiseman, Sr.
On August 21, 1965, she married John (Buster) Moppin. He preceded her in death January 30, 2009.
Sharon is survived by three daughters and two sons. Rhonda Vandruff (Joe- recently deceased), Denny Lunsford, Tammy Wright (John), Georgeanna Jones (Larry), Matt Moppin (Holly). 14 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren, 1 brother David Wiseman, Jr. (Carol) and numerous nieces and nephews.
She worked full time all of her life working at Troy & Irene's Cafe, Colonial Kitchen, Mech's, Eagles Auxiliary, Potter Elementary School, Easton Elementary, Country Care Nursing Home, High Plains Inc. Most Wanted Spirits and Potter Country Store.
During the early years, Sharon, Buster and children lived in Stillings, Mo. aka Moppinville. They enjoyed living close to family and created many memories such as going to Poffs Park "the pond".
Sharon enjoyed camping, fishing, embroidery, bird watching, country music, Facebook, going to the casino, cooking and playing canasta. She loved spending time in the kitchen, creating delicious meals for her family. She was famous for her homemade noodles, succotash, onion dressing, and golumpki (stuffed cabbage).
Sharon had a beautiful heart and treated any stranger like she's known them her whole life. She was adored and loved by all who knew her.
Her proudest accomplishment was having her big family. She will be sadly missed by all her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Sharon is at peace and back in Busters loving arms again. ♥️
Family and friends are invited to celebrate her life at Davis Funeral Chapel, Leavenworth Ks.
Tuesday, May 18th 5-7 pm.
Memorial contributions may be given to the family, David Moppin, for burial assistance.
