Sheryl D. Shingleton "Missy", 60, of Leavenworth, passed away in her home on Aug. 15,2026. She was born Aug.14,1966, in San Francisco, California. The daughter of Larry R. Shingleton Sr. and Joyce E. Wright Shingleton. Missy struggled with a disability her entire life. Even being diagnosed legally blind at a very young age, she did not let that slow her down. After graduating high school, she acquired an associates degree in Accounting. Missy was employed at Walgreens, for a number of years, where she was acknowledged and recognized continuously for her efforts, and exceptional work ethic. As much as she enjoyed her position at Walgreens, her true love in life was her birds. If you knew Missy, you knew this to be true. Everything in her was dedicated to her birds. She loved them more then life itself. She was preceded in death by her parents, and younger brother Curtis L. Shingleton. Missy is survived by a brother, Larry R. Shingleton Jr. of Kansas City, Kansas, one sister Rebecca Barnett of Lee Summitt, Missouri, stepmother Myrl-Ann Ransom, also of Lee summit Missouri, and a number of other family members and friends. Missy was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Later day Saints. She made many many friends within her church family and cherished them dearly. There will not be a service at this time.
