Susan Mable (nee Morse) Brungardt

Susan died 23 July 2021, in Leavenworth, KS, at age 78.

She was born 9 September 1942 in Port Angeles, W A, to Grant C. and Margaret (nee
Pope) Morse. She was their only child, though she had a half-brother from her father's first
marriage. Around age three, she and her mother moved to Hawaii to join her father, living on the
island of Oahu until she went to college. She earned a Bachelors in Mathematics from Pomona
College in California, following that up some years later with a second Bachelors in Accounting
from St. Mary College.

She moved to Kansas in 1964, and to Leavenworth in 1972. Susan made her home in
Leavenworth from then until her death. For 10 years, she worked as a travel agent (ajob she'd
previously held in both Hawaii and Kansas) for International Tours. She left there to work for
Heatron, Inc, starting in 1982 as an office manager, and retiring as their Accounting Manager in
2003.

In her spare time and especially in retirement, she enjoyed watching sports, particularly
Kansas City Chiefs football and University of Kansas basketball, as well as watching or
attending the odd Kansas City Royals game. For a number of years, Susan also enjoyed
philanthropic work which included working with the Leavenworth Assistance Center, Catholic
Charities and the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program. She also enjoyed reading
and keeping up on politics and current events.

Susan is survived by her son, Patrick, of La Vista, NE, his spouse, LeAnne Foust, DMA, .
and their three canine "furkids." She was preceded in death by her parents and her half-brother,
Richard Twining.

The family requests that memorials be made to the Leavenworth Assistance Center.
