Vernon Lee Parker

With our hearts full of Love and sorrow we announce that Vernon Lee Parker of Leavenworth, KS (71 years old) passed away gently in his sleep at Twin Oaks Assisted Living in Leavenworth, KS but don't be sorrowful as Vernon wanted everyone to throw a party and celebrate his life not mourn his death. Vernon was an Army Veteran of many years with Active Duty time and also National guard time. He loved his Children and Grandchildren deeply. His strong will and crazy personality will be missed by his family and friends and heaven will have their hands full with this one!! Vernon's Mother (Jacqueline Miles) Father (Harold Jay Parker) and Brothers (Douglas Brown) (Loren Parker & Janet Parker) and (Calvin Parker) are in heaven and we know they will keep his rowdiness to a minimum. Vernon loved to socialize in his early days and being from Eureka California loved swimming the local rivers, dodging the big red wood trees while driving and fishing for Salmon. He drove long haul trucks for a time and his trips would take him all the way into downtown New York City. Don't know how he was able to get a big rig into NY City but he did it with finesse while other drivers hated the route. He adored football and loved his Oakland Raiders and old Chevy cars. Vernon was an Electrician by trade and worked up until his retirement at the IHG Hotel on Fort Leavenworth KS. He was married to Debra Mace who has also passed on to heaven. Vernon is survived by his two children (Kendra Parker) of Leavenworth, KS and (Jason Kellen) of Chandler, Arizona, he has 7 grandchildren (Ryan Moore, Alexis Kellen, Trey Kellen, Brooklyn Kellen, Marcus Dabash, Justine Dabash, and Lance Dabash) and two great grandchildren (Leia Marie Dabash and Grayson James Kellen) who will miss him greatly. He is also survived by 2 brothers, 1 sister and brother-in-law (Donald J. Parker) of Loveland, Colorado, (WIlliam Guy Parker) of Leavenworth, KS, and (Linda Bullock-Clowers & Randy Clowers) of Leavenworth, KS.

Vernon's Celebration of Life is scheduled on Thursday 27 Aug 2026 at 33588 167th Street, Leavenworth, KS 66048 from 5-8 pm. Please feel free to stop by and celebrate his life with us and share your crazy stories with the family as we would love to hear them all.
