Virginia I Groves (Jeannie), 77, of Leavenworth KS, passed away on 10/07/2022 from late stages Alzheimer's. Jeannie was born on 08/11/1945 to John P Groves, Sr and Irene (Caton) Groves at Fort Sill OK. Jeannie was born with cerebral palsy, and was mentally disabled from birth. She attended the Rainey School for the Mentally Handicapped in Leavenworth until 1963. Virginia resided and was cared for by her mother for her entire life.
Jeannie was predeceased by her father John P Groves Sr, and a nephew Matthew Groves. She is survived by, her mother Irene Groves, Sister Lona Prescott, a brother and sister-in-law John P Groves Jr (Teresa) all of Leavenworth KS, and several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Faith Hospice, or a charity of the donor's choice.

Visitation will be held at Davis Funeral Chapel on Tuesday, October 18, 2022 from 5 to 7 P.M. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 19, 2022 at 11 A.M.  Burial will follow at Fort Leavenworth National Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to Davis Funeral Chapel.
