Obituary

Walter Christopher (Chris) Harris 66, of Leavenworth, Ks passed away on Weds, June 28th, 2023, in his home.
Chris was born on August 19, 1956 in Kansas City, Mo. The son of Charles A Harris II, and Shirley M Spencer (Edlin) who both preceded him in Death.
He served in the United States Army, Active Duty from 1974-1976.
Chris Married Mary A Harris (Heimericks) the love of his Life on October 30, 1976, and they were blessed with 2 children Lisa Harris and Casey Harris.
Chris Retired from the United States Federal Penitentiary after working there from August 1991 to August 2011 as an Electrical Forman, and General Forman. He received many awards during his employment there.
Chris's grandchildren were his everything, he loved spending time with them and watching them grow, if at all possible, he would not miss a single sport or activity they were in, cheering for the kids no matter the event was his very favorite past time. He also enjoyed Family get togethers, and being everyone's favorite Uncle Chris, riding his Harley, if you asked him there was no better feeling then the wind on his face, time at the lake with his family, Traveling with Mary, and spending money! Chris could not pass up a good deal "Buy, Sell, Trade" was his motto. He also enjoyed spontaneous Breakfasts, or lunches with his friends, or grandson, and Trips to McDonalds with his dog Harri to grab a couple double Cheeseburgers. Chris loved to pass on his life experiences with us all (lectures), his generosity touched many lives. He loved college Sports…. ROCK CHALK! Chris was blessed with some amazing Friendships, and he cherished every single one of them.
Chris is survived by; Wife Mary Harris of Leavenworth, Ks, Daughter Lisa Harris (Steven Walters) of Leavenworth Ks, Son Casey Harris (Cameron) of Parkville Mo. 4 Grand Kids; Alexis, Mike, Ellie, and Marley, and 2 Great Grands, Cristobal, and Veronica. 3 Siblings; Wanda Lux (Gary) of Holt Summit Mo, Porter Harris (Pam) of Jefferson City, Mo, JD Wyatt (Bessy) of Jefferson City, Mo, and Sister-in-Law Lynn Blanche of Leavenworth, Ks, numerous nieces and nephews. A brother from another Mother Bobby Crosswhite, and Sister from another Mister Rita Wright.
Preceded in Death by His Brother Chuck Harris, Father Charles Harris, Mother Shirley Spencer, and Sister Debbie Jones.
Visitation will be held at Davis Funeral Chapel on Monday, July 17, 2023 from 10 A.M. to noon. Celebration of Life will follow at Noon at Davis Funeral Chapel. Burial will be held at Platte Memorial Cemetery.
