Walter Edward McCullum passed peacefully at his home on December
18, 2020. He was born on November 17, 1932 in Hattiesburg,
Mississippi to his parents Napoleon McCullum and Alma Maples. He
received his early education in Hattiesburg, Mississippi and attended
Depriest High School. After graduation he joined the United States
Marine Corps, where he served in the Korean War. After his time in the
military, he moved to Los Angeles, CA.

While in Los Angeles he worked for numerous companies including
Northrup Grumman. He ultimately decided to stay with General Motors
where he retired after a 30year career. During his career with General
Motors he and his family moved to Oklahoma City, OK and Shreveport,
LA. After retiring, he moved to Hesperia, CA for several vears and then
to Lansing, KS in 2008.

He was a lifelong member on the Prince Hall Masons and continued his
travels throughout his life. He was a member of Mount Olive Lodge #3,
Leavenworth, KS, where he once served as the Junior Warden. He
continued to regularly attend meetings faithfully until his health began
to fail. He loved to listen to music and stay in contact with family.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his loving wife of 51 years, Clara Mae
McCullum, Lansing, KS; their children Vivian (Ellsworth) Willis of Los
Angeles, CA; Christopher (Kelly) Davis of Ardmore, OK; Stephanie
(Robert-Deceased) Smith of Garland, TX; Walter Jr (Regina) McCullum
of Leavenworth, KS; and Michael (Diane) McCullum of Shreveport, LA;
several grandchildren and great grandchildren. He also leaves behind a
host of cousins, relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and son, Melvin Davis Jr.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to the family to help with funeral expenses.

Visitation will be held at Davis Funeral Chapel, Tuesday, January 5, 2020 from 10 A.M. to 11 A.M. Graveside service will follow at Mount Muncie Cemetery. Condolences may be left on Walter's online guestbook at www.davisfuneralchapelinc.com .
