Wanita (Robins) Millsap, 96, passed away on October 12, 2022, at the home of her daughter and son-in- law, Madeline and Steve Weissenfluh in Leavenworth, Kansas.
Wanita was born on April 13, 1926, at home in Beaver County, Oklahoma, to Ruth and Joe Robins. She was the oldest of seven children. Most of her adulthood was spent in Liberal, Kansas, where she met and married her husband, Charles, of 59 years. They were blessed with a son, Riley Millsap, as well as their daughter, Madeline. Wanita served as a bookkeeper and insurance clerk at the Epworth Hospital and Southwest Medical Center in Liberal for over 30 years. She adored her grandchildren and great grandchildren, attending their musical and sporting events as often as possible. She made a point each day of appreciating the beauty of nature in the flowers, trees and wildlife that graced her life. She
enjoyed putting jigsaw puzzles together, reading, cheering for both the Royals and the Chiefs, and spoiling the family dogs, Ollie and Lucy. She was a very kind and generous person with a gentle soul.
In addition to her daughter and son-in-law, Wanita is survived by: Grandchildren, Aaron Weissenfluh (Melissa), Kansas City, MO, and Christine Cook, Overland Park, KS; Great-grandchildren, Ayana and Apollos Weissenfluh, Seth and Hunter Lampton, Kansas City, MO; Sisters, Lois Bechthold, Booker, TX and Joan Kamp (Verl),Laverne, OK; Sisters-in law, Marilyn Robins, Darrouzett, TX and Yvonne Ellyson, Arvada, CO; numerous extended family members and friends.
She was predeceased by Parents, Ruth and Joe Robins; Husband, Charles Millsap; Sisters, Fay Schoenhols and Alta May Phillips; and Brothers, Chester and Jack Robins.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, October 26 th from 5-7 P.M. at the Davis Funeral Chapel in Leavenworth, Kansas. Burial will be at the Restlawn Cemetery in Liberal, Kansas, on Saturday, October 29 th , at 10 A.M.
