Wayne Allan Ahrndt, 73 years of age, passed away on Saturday, January 25th, 2025 in the early morning. Wayne had a horrible battle with cancer and fought a good fight!
Wayne was born on October 21, 1951, to Orin E. Ahrndt Sr & Laurel Wells Ahrant of Benson, Minnesota. Both of Wayne's parents proceed him death.
Wayne passed away surrounded by his family who loved him. Wayne and Donna Marie Ruch Jackson Ahrndt joined hands of holy matrimony on June 21, 2003 at Our Place in downtown Leavenworth, KS. Wayne and Donna shared many joys and sorrows for 21 years of marriage and many years before that. They took many trips in their marriage with the most memorable being to Las Vegas 2 years ago.

Wayne is survived by, stepdaughter Heather Bohnsack (husband Jeff) and a stepson TJ (wife Teresa) both of Leavenworth, five grandchildren, Ruben McDowell, Madelyn Bohnsack, Brayden Jackson, Carter Jackson and Jonah Jackson. Wayne joined the Army on 10/02/1969 at the age of 18. He made a career of that retiring as an E7, Sargent First Class on 10/31/1989. Wayne joined the team at Lansing Correctional Facility and made a career as a correctional guard for many years and retiring from that position on 9/28/2013. Wayne drove the Leavenworth School Buses for a couple of years to pass some time during retirement. Wayne loved to garden and tinker with everything. He enjoyed the outdoors to include fishing and camping. He loved to play the tables. Most of all, he loved coupon shopping. He could spend hours at the commissary looking for a great deal.
This has been a very hard time for Donna and the family, but they want to thank you all for your kind words and prayers.

Visitation will be held at Davis Funeral Chapel on Thursday February 6, 2025 from 9 to 10:30 A.M. Burial will follow at Leavenworth National Cemetery.
