William (Bill) Abbott, 80, Leavenworth, passed away in his home with his stepson, Tim Rush, who was taking care of him on May 27, 2022.

He was born on June 13, 1941 to Don and Marie Abbott.

Bill joined the Navy after school from 1958 to 1962. After serving his country, he worked a variety of jobs. This included Gordon Johnson, Leavenworth Saw Mill & Machine Shop, Geiger Ready Mix, and owned and operated a taxi for Veterans Cab.

After retirement Bill enjoyed solving crossword puzzles, watching western movies, and hanging out with friends tinkering in his garage.

Bill was preceded in death by his son, Jon Abbott, long-time companion Theresa Rush, parents and siblings.

Bill is survived by his son, Todd Abbott, granddaughter, Leslie Lukenich, grandson, Todd Abbott, Jr., stepson, Tim Rush, niece, Shelia Vogel, nephew, Bruce Hirsler, and several family members of his long  time companion, Theresa Rush.

Bill was a long-time member of Fortress of Faith Christian Church. In lieu of flowers the family asks for donations to go to the Fortress of Faith Christian Church.

Memorial service will be held on Tuesday, June 7, 2022 at 1:30 P.M. at Davis Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow at Leavenworth National Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to Davis Funeral Chapel.
