William "Billy" Newburn of Leavenworth, Kansas passed away on Wednesday, February 16, 2022, at the age of eighty. After years of declining health due to Parkinson's, he died peacefully at the University of Kansas Hospital with his beloved wife Jeanne, his daughter Barbara and two of his granddaughters (Chastidy & Crystal) by his side.

Billy was born on May 4, 1941, in Hutchinson, Kansas to Floyd & Florence (Stewart) Newburn. As a teenager, his family moved to California. He graduated from Pacific Grove High School in 1959. As a young man he worked as a contractor, where he painted numerous celebrity homes, including Dolly Parton, Michael J. Fox, David Crosby, and Lionel Richie. Shortly after, he began working for Rockwell International
painting space shuttles during the seventies and eighties. He spent 17 years with Rockwell. At the age of forty-nine, he retired and moved back to Hutchinson, Kansas.

As fate would have it, in 1990 he met his beautiful bride and soulmate Jeanne. They married January 1, 1992. During their 30-year marriage, they enjoyed many things, including country dancing, traveling to visit family, antiquing and simply being together. They worked at their son-in-Iaw's coffee shop (The Daily Grind) between 1998-2006. Billy was the most amazing barista, he thoroughly enjoyed meeting new people and was always up for a conversation. He did not know a stranger and would give the shirt off his back to anyone in need. He was an amazing father and an even
more amazing grandfather and great-grandfather. Billy was an incredibly charismatic and good man. Billy was incredibly loved and will be missed by every heart he touched.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Floyd and Florence (Stewart) Newburn.

Billy is survived by his loving wife, Jeanne Newburn; children, Rhonda (Lee) Kliman, Debra Davis, Barbara (AI) Simon, Nancy (Alan) Figgs, Richard Lewis and Wayne (Leslie) Lewis; many grandchildren and great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that remembrances go to the Michael J Fox Foundation.

Memorial Visitation services will be held Friday, February 25, 2022, from 4-8 pm at Davis Funeral Chapel in Leavenworth, Kansas.
