James C. Crosby, Sr., of Sun lakes, AZ, went to be with his Lord on Friday, Dec. 30,
2016, in Sun Lakes.
James was born November 10, 1917 in Sherman, TX. He was the son of Edmond
Crosby and Mary Ellen (Knight) Crosby.
He married Mary Lou Hueston on September 10, 1940. They were married for 66
years. She preceded him in death on November 3, 2006. He is survived by one son,
James C. Crosby Jr. (Bonnie) and two daughters Linda Lou Hoeltzel (Bill) and Sallie Ann
Crosby. He is survived by five grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, two great great
grandchildren. He is also survived by one niece Carol Crosby, and two nephews Edmond
Franklin Crosby Jr. and Robert Crosby.
James was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and two sisters, his
son, Richard Hueston Crosby, and his grandson Kevin James Crosby.
James was a Methodist. He grew up on the C-Tree family cattle ranch in
Savannah, OK. He started his service in the Army Air Corp 1940 serving in the Pacific in
WWII. He also served in the Korean and Vietnam conflicts. He retired from United
States Air Force as a Senior Master Sergeant with 30 years of service. After retirement
he lived in Denver CO, Tonganoxie KS, and Sun Lakes AZ.
James was a devoted husband, father, grandfather.
Visitation will be from 11:00 am to 12:30 pm on Tuesday, January 10, 2017 at the Davis Funeral Chapel followed by a funeral service at 12:30 pm at the funeral chapel. Following the service the family would like all friends and relatives to attend the committal service at 1:30 pm at the Leavenworth National Cemetery.
