If you're interested in donating your organs, talk about it with your family. Other steps to assure your wishes are known at the proper time include:

Completing a wallet-size Uniform Organ Donor Card. Call the National Kidney Foundation at 1-800-622-9010 to find out how to get your free card.
Filling out the back of your driver's license if it includes a donor form.
Making sure your next of kin understand your wishes and will give consent, if needed, at the time of your death.
